How is an iXBRL report generated?
The Accountant's Portal has two tools which the accountant and the business client can use to compile reports:
1. iXBRL viewer/editor
2. iXBRL port manager
With the iXBRL viewer/editor, a taxonomy can be imported and mapping takes place using data from the accounts and/or other data sources. Supporting documents, including explanatory notes, can be linked to information fields and thus digitally archived. The entire process from commencement to final approval is accomplished via a workflow which ensures that things are always under control.
By using the port manager in the iXBRL port manager, reports can be sent to the relevant bodies or organisations. Certificate management and authorisation management also take place within this module.
Why use the Twinfield Accountant's Portal?
With more than 80,000 financial accounts under management, Twinfield is the European market leader in online accounting. New tools are constantly being developed in collaboration with national and international accountancy firms. The iXBRL module will be an integrated part of all existing Twinfield Online Accounting subscriptions. Twinfield is therefore making the iXBRL module available at no extra cost to both accountants and businesses.
A solution that’s scalable, manageable, and flexible
Twinfield has developed a scalable and manageable solution that is extremely flexible. The Accountant's Portal can be used both nationally and internationally. With the iXBRL viewer/editor, self-defined taxonomies can be created and modified as required. The workflow can also be linked to existing work programmes used by the accountant. If an accountancy firm already has its own iXBRL mailbox environment, the Twinfield iXBRL viewer/editor can be configured for this.
If financial accounts are already being compiled in Twinfield then use of the Accountant's Portal is a logical extension. The environments are seamlessly integrated with each other. The big advantage is that reports can then allow drill down into the financial accounts right to book entry level.
Online collaboration

With the launch of the Twinfield Accountant's Portal, new tools are being provided that will improve collaboration between accountants and business clients even further. Twinfield has developed a special programme for accountants called Think Forward With this programme, accountants are not only helped with processing financial accounts more efficiently, but also with online marketing of their services.
